Bio

Weiran Zhang was born in Shanxi / China in 1990. She received her first piano lessons in China at the age of 6. Later she finally studied music education and piano solo at Tianjin Normal University / Tianjin University of Education and graduated with honors. Her further path led her to Germany, where she has been studying piano with Prof. Stefana Chitta-Stegemann in the course of studies for artistic education since 2015. At the age of 19, Weiran Zhang played her first solo concert at the Tianjin University of Education and is part of the orchestra of the Tianjin University of Music. She performs at various music festivals and concerts, such as the Alien Basic Music Festival in Estonia and in the Concert Hall with the Estonia National Symphony Orchestra at the chamber music concert in the Riga Concert Hall and the solo concert in the Estonia Concert Hall. Piano concerts with the orchestra of Dr. Hoch`s Conservatory in Frankfurt am Main. At the same time, she also participated in the Frankfurt project “Musiccircus” at the Alte Oper and works closely with Prof. Michael Buhycher-Okser from the Julian School and Prof. Sergei Stadler from the Moscow Conservatory. In addition, she received intensive lessons from Prof. Andreas Fröhlich, Prof. Dmitri Bashkirov and Prof. Vladimir Ovchinnikov (Master Class).
She has been working as a piano teacher for almost ten years. In addition to her extensive piano teaching, she was also a lecturer for orchestra and chamber music at the Tianjin University of Education. Furthermore, she organizes numerous music festivals and events to share her passion of piano with as many people as possible and to support piano lovers all over the world.
Her teaching was also well recognized and confirmed by the numerous awards her students have won. To name a few:
